So one of the mommies in my Stroller Strides class gave me the idea to print off Nico's blog at the end of his first year (A great idea, huh???). I googled "blog books" and found this really neat site: www.blurb.com . They will import your blog and make a bookstore quality book, hard or softback. The software is free to download and the books range from $12.95 to about $100. I have downloaded the program but haven't had time to play with it. Check it out!!!

Photo Shoot...
We had a whirlwind photo session at mom's on Sunday. This is one of the best pictures from the day. He is so stinking CUTE!!!
Sugar Valley Neighborhood Picnic...
Saturday we headed to a neighborhood picnic in mom's subdivision. It was pretty nice. Lots of food, music and door prizes.
MNO at Firefly Grille...
Mommies Night Out was this past Saturday. I had a wonderful time. First we ate dinner at a cute little restaurant called Firefly Grille over in Green Hills. Then some of us headed to Greenhouse Bar. It's a bar in an old greenhouse...pretty cool!
Apple...
I gave Nico a slice of apple the other day. He did pretty good. I think he liked playing with it in his hands more than he liked putting it in his mouth. It was a pretty sour apple so I don't blame him.
Sitting Up...
Nico has been sitting up on his own for awhile, but now he knows how to sit himself up. Before we would just plop him down on his behind and he'd sit there until toppling over. Now, if he falls over or is laying down he can maneuver himself up to a sitting position. He first did this in the crib, but can now do it on just about any surface. Such a cheese ball!!!
Backyard Fun...
It was so nice the other day we decided to head outside for some backyard fun. Nico is such a papa's boy!!! Those two have such a good time together!
Festive Pup...
We dropped Mattie off at the vet to get a bath, nails clipped, etc. When we went to pick her up she was sporting this adorable scarf. It has fall leaves all over it...so festive! It's been about 2 weeks and she still has it on. Some of you that know Mattie know that she doesn't necessarily like it, she's just too lazy to get it off ;)

World's Smallest Playpen...
I brought Nico downstairs with me so I could do some laundry.
I also brought one of his toys for him to play with (you can see it in the bottom right hand corner of this picture), but the laundry basket was much more entertaining.
Then Mattie got in on the fun. He LOVES Mattie! He laughs at her all of the time!
I decided to put his toys in there with him (thus the tiny playpen). I took this opportunity to run and grab the next load of clothes. Fun times!!!

Greek Festival...
We, along with Ashley, Giggy and Cat, went to the annual Greek Festival on Sunday. It was fun! There was tons of good food and lots of entertainment. Nico will really like it in a few years. They had real pony rides and a petting zoo. I can picture him now!

Messy Man and Playing...
We have been taking a lot of pictures lately and I haven't been too good at updating the blog. I have decided to do it in one fell swoop, so here goes:
I took the following photos today. They really don't have much in common except that I took them all today...that would explain the post title not making too much sense.
Last Minute Labor Day Visit...
We decided to head to Madison over Labor Day for a quick visit. Here are some photos from the weekend.
Nico and his cousins: Robbie, Paige and Emma
Nico and Emma with their Paw.
Nico in his outfit that Gabby and Paw got him in Capri, Italy.
He liked this push car. He did really good until he would get distracted. Then he would turn and almost fall out of the seat belt. I think the toy is for babies 18 months and older. I like to say Nico's advanced ;)
Happy man!

The Girls...
Tracy was in town with Jeremy (draft party) and she and Becca came over to hang out after the little man went to bed. We had such a good time hanging out on the deck!

Peas and Spaghetti...
Some of Nico's first table foods were peas and spaghetti...not together...on different nights :) He still isn't too sure about it, but we are working on it. We are going to try the stage 3 (chunkier) foods in combination with some softer table foods. In the last picture he is gumming a Biter Biscuit (super messy, but he likes them...for a few minutes at least). We did find out that he likes french fries, but what kid doesn't?!?!
