Ghouls at Grassmere...

Nico had a very busy day. After the Molasses Festival (see post below) and a quick nap, we headed to the Nashville Zoo for Ghouls at Grassmere. This was the first time Nico got to officially dress up in his monkey costume. I got him a fake banana at a craft store. It totally made the costume!

I think the rubber banana only works because Nico is teething. He held on to it all evening!

Molasses Festival...

Me, Nico, Ashley, Giggy and Cat went to the Molasses Festival today. We had a good ol' time. We watched cloggers, saw dogs herding sheep, and people sheering sheep; we ate corn dogs and fried pies. Like I said, we had a good ol' time!
Nico looking at the milk goats. I think that's what kind of goat that is. I wish I had a friend that knew more about goats!
Ashley and Nico waiting for the cloggers to start.
Cloggers starting.
Eating Giggy's Sonic ice. I hope he doesn't get addicted like some people I know ;)

Silly Boys...

David put Nico in this mesh bag/basket thing and started swinging him. Nico was so content sitting in there swinging. So silly!

Hangin' With Babbo...

My dad (Babbo) came through Nashville on Tuesday on his way from FL to NC for a job interview. Nico wasn't sure what to think at first, but he warmed up pretty quickly.

The Zoo Again...

So David's ENTIRE family (not really, just most of them) came up on Sunday for a group trip to the Nashville Zoo. It was still a little hot, but we had a great time despite the warm weather.
Ready to go!
Robbie, Nico, Paige and Emma
Inside the parakeet exhibit. Kinda creepy, especially if you aren't fond of anything that flies. I'm not going to mention any names. Let's just say, my visit was short lived.
Papa and Nico.
Nico experienced his first carousel ride. He did pretty good. He just took it all in. No laughing or screeching with glee, but at least he didn't cry.
Having a good ol' time!

Pictures at Isom's...

Nico and I headed to Huntsville on Saturday to visit Granny. Then we headed to Isom's Orchard for some family pictures. Nico did such a good job with all of his cousins!
Everything gets the taste test...even pumpkin stems!
So excited!!!
Yes, he's wearing shoes...I know, it's a rare occasion ;)
Nico and his idol, his cousin Robbie.

Nico and I headed to playgroup at Parmer Park on Friday. The weather was beautiful. We had a wonderful time!

6 Month Pictures...

Check out Nico's 6 month photos. Go to http://www.mintandsage.com/, click on "View Images" in the upper right hand corner. Select Nico's gallery. the password is "monger".
Also, Krystal (the photographer that took these wonderful photos) is having a Halloween Photo Shoot/open house at her studio at the Factory in Franklin. Here's what she said:
The Halloween shoot will be on Halloween, as an open house in our office from 3-7. Kids who are dressed up can come for a free portrait sitting. The images will be placed on our website and they can choose one image from the session to be emailed to them at no charge. This is all to help spread the word about the studio so we are donating our time to the cause! We will have candy to give away, so they can make their stop at our place on their way to go trick-or-treating.
On another note, we are doing family mini-sessions October 25th and November 1st. $75 for a 30 minute session and one retouched hi-res image. Christmas cards will be available for purchase at a slight discount. We are trying to book up those days for sure and it's a great discount from our usual session fees, if you want to spread the word!

Slithering...

Nico has been crawling...well, slithering...for about 2 weeks now. He does sort of an army crawl. He is really getting around pretty well. In this picture he has backed himself into his toy box...oops. On another note, I'm sure you could have guessed from most of the pictures, he is a CHEESER!!! He loves to have his picture taken. Hope that sticks around for awhile :)
"Crawling" towards another toy. He's actually getting close to pulling up to standing (I think. This is the first time I've done this!). He can get up on his knees if he has something to hold on to.

Halloween PJ's...

Gabby got Nico these Halloween PJ's. They have a bear dressed as a mummy and reads "My Mummy Loves Me". Too cute! We figured we might as well get as much use out of them as we could...at the rate he's growing, these might not even fit at Halloween!

Yard Work...

David is happy to finally have someone to help him with the yard work. Hopefully Nico is always this happy when his papa asks for help in the yard!!!
My two boys watering the flowers on the deck.

Pancakes at Granny's...

Nico had his first experience with pancakes (without syrup...we'll save that fun, sticky mess for another day) last time we were at Granny's. We think he liked them, but most of them ended up on the floor.
Yummy...
...pancakes!!!

Halloween Preview...

So Samantha and I couldn't resist putting Nico in his Halloween costume a little early. He's a monkey, not an Ewok. The costume even has a built in potbelly! Isn't he an adorable little monkey?!?!
