Discovery Center...

Nico got a membership to The Discovery Center in Murfreesboro for Christmas. We have already been several times and he is really enjoying learning new things each time we go. It's a sort of hands-on place that teaches kids things without them even knowing it. Below are some of the fun things we did last time!
Working the conveyor belt at the "market".
Let's put the produce away.
I'm going to need him to start doing this at home!
He got to climb on a firetruck!
And change a tire. This is how I would look if I was ever asked to change a tire :)
And of course lots of time is spent at the "train" table. I say "train" because that's what he calls it even though it's cars and trucks. It's more of a city scene than a train track. Look at that concentration!

Roller Skating...

The local roller skating rink has Family Nights on Thursdays. I recently took my little sister from Big Brothers Big Sisters and noticed that there were several kids Nico's age there. So last week we gave it a try. Nico wasn't too fond of the skates at first, but he eventually got used to them. I'd say he did about 5 full laps through out the evening (with assistance, of course). It's definitely something we'll be doing again soon!

Snowy Days...

It's so hard to believe it's already been 2 weeks since New Year's!!! This year is already going by too fast. Mother Nature decide she would put our busy schedule and crazy lives to a grinding halt early last week. It was much appreciated. Sometimes it just takes being forced to stop and breathe to put your life back in focus. Since David was gone to Arizona to see the national championship game (War Eagle, by the way!!!) it was just me and the little man. Housebound. For 3 days. It was actually very nice to play in the snow, to snuggle and watch movies and to not get out of our pj's!!! This little guy is so much fun to be around and there is never a dull moment.
He enjoyed the snow a little more this time around. We probably stayed outside for an hour sledding and building a snowman.
I wish I had gotten a picture, but Mattie actually went down with us a time or two! Then I had to chase her around the neighborhood to get her back inside, but it was well worth the two minutes of amusement!!!
Our country bumpkin snow-woman. Nico was done at this point, as you can tell.
His attempt at smiling on cue. We'll have to work on this.
