Easter Festivities 2011...

Easter was so fun this year. Nico really got into coloring the eggs, hunting the eggs and the candy! He also tried to understand why we celebrate Easter, but that may be a year or two off. The weekend was a great one spent with family and friends (furry ones with lots of legs and slimy ones with no legs). We spent most of it outdoors which is always a plus! Check out what went on...
Friday night we dyed Easter eggs. I only boiled 8 for him to color because he wasn't that into it last year. I should have known...of course, he wanted to do more!
Check out that blue hand!
Ah the fun you can have with a hard boiled egg and a plunger. Don't worry, it was brand new!
We played with a caterpillar. It was so cute how Nico talked to it and called him his "little bud".
The Easter Bunny brought him a new train!
Nico even shared his jelly beans with Mattie.
The Easter Bunny hid the eggs a little too early. Shell-less snails had invaded a few of the plastic ones (thus the look of disgust on Cat's face)...I guess, looking for a home.
Looking for the eggs was a group effort.
David is so proud of his irises. They are gorgeous!
Smiling through a mouth full of jelly beans! Happy Easter!

Zoo Class...

I know, I know. I have been a horrible blogger. My apologies. I am trying to stay above water here, but am having issues lately. But alas, I am here to update you on all things Nico. We are taking a class at the zoo again this spring and we are loving it. Ms. Julie brings out real animals to demonstrate whatever it is we are talking about that week. Last week we learned about camouflage.
Nico is hiding/disguised as a fireman...sort of.
Nico looking at a tree frog changing colors because of the dark paper around his container. So cool!
