Summertime in Nashville...

We've been trying to take in every wonderful minute summertime has to offer...
Milk and cookies on the deck...
 Feeding the ducks...
Playing at local parks...and we're looking forward to more!

The Plateau...

Last weekend we ventured to the Cumberland Plateau to visit Fall Creek Falls and to spend the night in Cookeville. The trip was full of exceeded expectations. The weather couldn't have been more perfect (we even made the best of a short rain shower) for us to do a little hiking and splash around in the falls. Our friends, the McDonald's, booked adjoining rooms at a great hotel in nearby Cookeville. The kids enjoyed running from room to room, squealing with delight, while the adults freshened up, had a drink and got ready for dinner. We enjoyed a long dinner at a cajun restaurant that had an authentic NOLA vibe. We treated the kids to ice cream afterwards from an old parlor in the quaint downtown. After sleeping in the next morning (Father's Day), we swam at the hotel pool, grabbed some sushi downtown, and stumbled upon a cute little park complete with splash pad and afternoon concert. To round out the trip we stopped at the ice cream parlor once more. It was a great trip! We've since vowed to start taking little weekend trips to enjoy all our beautiful state has to offer.

This is usually what happens when I ask Nico to smile these days. I'll take it!

Showing Marigny that it isn't all that scary.
Enjoying the concert in the park.
 Happy Father's Day!
There was a cute little train stop downtown, too.
 Being silly!

Summer Fun...

We enjoyed an impromptu play date with some great friends last week. Nico's best buddy, Keenan, came over for some fun in the sun. We dragged lots of toys out of the garage. Adding a sprinkler breathes a whole new life into some of these toys...
For instance, running through the sprinkler with a helmet and tennis racket!
Best buds!

Langan Family Reunion 2012...

Part of the Langan gang met at my mom's over the weekend. As usual, there was good food, great company and memories made and shared. I know everyone said it at some point, now let's just do it...Let's get together more often! Love you guys!

"Boys" Beach Trip...

Last week was the annual boys trip to the condo (just because there were three females there doesn't mean it wasn't a boys trip...let's say it was a grandsons trip!). The forecast called for rain most days, but we were lucky and the only rain we saw was really early one morning and then on the windshield as we headed home. Nico has become quite the little swimmer this summer. He pretty much refuses to wear his floaties or his swim shirt and has recently learned to float on his back. He actually jumped in the pool and swam all the way across, coming up for breaths and everything! He's definitely not a strong or technical swimmer, but he loves it and I love watching him explore his new freedom.

Sorry it's sideways...again!
 Just the boys!

Happy Mother's Day...

We enjoyed a quick trip to Madison for Mother's Day. We headed straight to Granny's after Nico's soccer game. We love visiting with Granny and she is just in love with Nico (as you can tell!). Then it was off to the Mongers' for some family time.
 Sweet smiles.
Gabby and the young'uns!

7 Years and Counting...

David and I recently (well, relatively) celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary. We celebrated with a nice dinner out. Well, an OK dinner at a nice restaurant. It was low key and it was perfect...just like him. Love you babe!

Giggy's photography skills to the rescue!

Our Little Warrior...

Nico is in to all things ninja, Star Wars, superhero, or soldier. He is definitely ALL boy! Here are a couple of images I've captured over the past few weeks. Love that stinker!
Rain boots + flag pole = instant superhero!
 I ninja thumbs up.
