The Plateau...

Last weekend we ventured to the Cumberland Plateau to visit Fall Creek Falls and to spend the night in Cookeville. The trip was full of exceeded expectations. The weather couldn't have been more perfect (we even made the best of a short rain shower) for us to do a little hiking and splash around in the falls. Our friends, the McDonald's, booked adjoining rooms at a great hotel in nearby Cookeville. The kids enjoyed running from room to room, squealing with delight, while the adults freshened up, had a drink and got ready for dinner. We enjoyed a long dinner at a cajun restaurant that had an authentic NOLA vibe. We treated the kids to ice cream afterwards from an old parlor in the quaint downtown. After sleeping in the next morning (Father's Day), we swam at the hotel pool, grabbed some sushi downtown, and stumbled upon a cute little park complete with splash pad and afternoon concert. To round out the trip we stopped at the ice cream parlor once more. It was a great trip! We've since vowed to start taking little weekend trips to enjoy all our beautiful state has to offer.
 Striking a pose!
 Fall Creek Falls
Nico and Papa playing in the falls.
This is usually what happens when I ask Nico to smile these days. I'll take it!

Showing Marigny that it isn't all that scary.
Enjoying the concert in the park.
 Happy Father's Day!
There was a cute little train stop downtown, too.
 Being silly!
My handsome ice cream connoisseur!
