David and I just got back from a much-needed vacation. Neither one of us had ever been to Chicago. With cheap flights from Nashville and 3 nights at a nice hotel free with frequent customer points, we were able to do this extra long weekend getaway for pretty cheap. We both LOVED the city and can't wait to bring the little man with us next time. There is so much to do!

Greek Festival 2010...
Yep, we went again this year! And yep, we visited the petting zoo again this year! This time he actually got into feeding the animals...too bad they were all pretty much stuffed from earlier visitors. Funny story: Every year they have the children of the church perform traditional Greek dances. Afterward the instructor will introduce all of the kids. Seriously, 3 out of 5 of the boys were named Nico!!! We only thought it was a clever and unusual name :)
School Days...
Nico started preschool (Mothers Morning Out) earlier this month. HE LOVES IT!!! I was very apprehensive because he is not a fan of the gym nursery (cries every time I leave him). I was very pleasantly surprised when his teacher said that he didn't shed a single tear. My little boy is growing up too fast!!!

Music Together...
Last week was our last Music Together class. Nico absolutely LOVED this class. It was a series of 8 classes where we sit an sing songs, dance, play instruments and much more. To those of you that gave Nico money for his birthday: A BIG THANK YOU!!! He had a blast and we'll definitely be doing it again!
Problem Solver...
One day last week Nico was being really quiet (highly unusual) and so I sneaked up on him. I found him playing with his wooden puzzles! He probably stayed in his playroom for 10 minutes just taking the pieces out and putting them back in.

Birthday Sunday...
Sunday was a day of birthday celebrations. We started the party train at Cade's first birthday party. This was an all boy party (except for one little girl) complete with airplanes, balls and a swimming pool. After that we headed over to Lala's for her housewarming/birthday bash. Dree Dree brought her two pups and Nico had a blast playing with them and entertaining all of the adults. Happy birthday Cade and Aunt Ashley!!!
Fire Station Visit...
Last week we got to visit a fire station here in Nashville. A friend arranged this field trip to celebrate her little boy's first birthday. Let me tell you...birthday season has begun! I thought Nico would really love this outing. Not the case. He was sort of standoffish and timid. He wanted me to hold him, which is not like him at all. I honestly don't think he felt well. He fell asleep on the way home. This is very unusual for him. Despite the not-so-enthused visit, he insists he's going to be a fireman for Halloween :)
